SASSA’s latest update says a change to the COVID-19 SRD grant payment method is now possible any day of the month.
Beneficiaries previously had only one week a month to change their SRD grant payment method. Beneficiaries now have the option of doing so whenever they feel the need to.
Thus, beneficiaries can change their payment method to receive their grants through a bank account at any time should they choose to do so.

- Click on ‘How do I change my banking details’
- Please submit your ID number
- When you apply, you will receive a SMS containing a secure link, unique to you
- In the SMS, click on the link
- Make sure you follow the instructions carefully

There are three ways to receive the R350 grant: by bank transfer, by postal transfer, or by CashSend.
R350 grant recipients should be aware that there is no set date for payment of the grant. Upon verification of the R350 grant application, SASSA will make SRD payments very soon.
Beneficiaries will then be able to pay for their grant using the method they choose.
SASSA R350 Grant Payment Methods in 2024
My confusion over how I would be able to receive the SASSA R350 grant money resulted from reviewing my SASSA Status and receiving SASSA R350 grant approval. I was able to find the answers to my questions by visiting the SASSA office nearby.

Changing your SASSA R350 payment method can be a good idea for several reasons. If your bank has changed, if you are having problems with your current method of payment, or if you just prefer another method of payment that better suits your needs, you may choose to change banks.

Payments can be made by e-wallet or cash
If you don’t want to reveal your bank account details or are unable to make payments at the bank, you can opt for the Ewallet option instead. This service is offered by Absa, Mango, and Nedbank (JSE-listed) in partnership with Sassa (South African Social Security Agency). An annual fee is required to use the option, but it doesn’t have to be paid every time. Ewallet fees will only be required if you use the service more than once.
It is not possible to use a SIM card that is not registered.
Payments made by a personal checking account
When you use this, the money from Sassa just goes directly into your bank account upon selection of your bank. Sassa officials also recommend this option due to its convenience and speed. Using a new agreement with the National Treasury, Sassa said: “We are reducing unnecessary procedures to speed up government payment collection.”.
As a result, South Africa’s Revenue Service (Sassa) can now direct deposit payments into individuals’ and businesses’ bank accounts.
The beneficiary can withdraw payments from his or her own bank account. The banks that beneficiaries most frequently use include TymeBank, Capitec, Standard Bank, FNB Bank, ABSA Bank, etc. Through electronic payment methods such as Transact Plus and Liberty Pay, beneficiaries can withdraw their monthly benefits.

How Do I Change My Sassa R350 Payment Method Online?
