How To Track R350 Grant Appeals Under The New Rules

The South African Social Security Agency administers social grants to eligible South Africans through a government agency called SASSA. These grants include elderly grants, disability grants, child support grants, foster child grants, and care dependency grants. The SASSA was established in 2005 to assist South Africans who are most vulnerable and in need of social grants.

You can appeal the decision if your application for the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant was rejected by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa).

Appeals must be filed within 90 days after the applicant receives their rejected application status, despite the recommendation that they be lodged within 30 days.

An Independent Tribunal will handle the appeal for reconsideration processes for the current cycle of R350 grants, Sassa announced recently. Due to the Independent Tribunal’s independence, Sassa is no longer involved with the appeals process.

How To Track R350 Grant Appeals

  • Please visit the following website: https://srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals/appeal
  • Please enter your South African Identification Number (ID)
  • If you submitted your application by phone, enter the number you used
  • The one-time pin will be sent to the phone number you provided above when you click “send pin.”.
  • To access your R350 grant appeal status, you will need to fill out the pin.

Applications that were rejected by Sassa should be appealed for every month that they were rejected.

Sassa grants can be appealed if you do not receive the grant you believe you should receive.
